CEO Corner April 2023

3/23/2023

Happy National Volunteer Month, everyone! Thank you to all of our volunteers that serve as mentors, board members, Young Philanthropists for Mentoring (YP4M) Members, or volunteers to support BBBSNH in other ways. It takes a village to fulfill our mission of creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. We are so grateful to have you as a part of our growing village.

Speaking of growing, this year our goal is to grow our monthly giving program, The Impact Circle, to 100 monthly donors!

Can you help us to reach our goal?

If we can get 100 new monthly donors to give $25/month, we can raise $30,000 annually to create and support matches! Any amount you are able to give makes a difference. Our sincere thanks to the generous individuals who have signed up so far!

Here is just one of many examples of how your monthly gift makes an impact. Meet Big Sister Maddie and Little Sister Ava – matched for six years and counting!

“Ava has truly become my family. When I talk about her to people that don’t know her I always describe her as ‘my sister’, with no distinctions. So when I was planning my wedding it was clear to me that I wanted her to be a part of every step along the way. It was the best decision! From her helping to organize gifts at the bridal shower to her handing out sparklers at the wedding. She was the best junior bridesmaid, I was so proud to have her standing by my side as I got married!”

April also marks the return of our annual Youth Protection Summit. BBBS has been a leader in child protection for many years, and our standards consistently evolve, becoming better over time.  Over BBBS’s 117-year history, we have modified and strengthened our child protection systems continuously, making it our priority to learn, share best practices, and screen volunteers to the highest standard.

We monitor our matches for the LIFE of the match. Yes, I said LIFE of the match, no matter how many years it spans. We provide child safety check-ins, resources, and referrals to other services that may be needed. We also provide access to planned activities and events that the match can attend, with a listening ear for anything that may arise in the relationship.

Happy spring,

Stacy W. Kramer, CEO
