June has certainly been a month to remember as our youth wrap up an unforgettable academic school year, where many of our students are working with their mentor to plan their future.
This week, we hit the road with several team members to attend our National Big Brothers Big Sisters Conference in Philly! Every year, BBBS agencies come from around the country to share our mission strengths and best practices for mentoring. This year, for the first time, we have a board member coming with us who will learn more about how we can strengthen our board to be the best ambassadors for the mission. Mentioning ambassadors – for the first time, we have Bri, a former Little/mentee who is joining us as Youth Ambassador at the conference. Bri has a wealth of experience with BBBS, just finished her first year of college, and still sees her Big Sister. Check out our social media for recent road trip updates and our YouTube channel!
I wanted to leave you with this recent quote from a Little Brother, age 11, he recently shared with us, that “the best part of his week is knowing he has an outing planned with his Big Brother.” There are boys still waiting for a male mentor, and even though we have seen more men signing up, we still need your help. Spread the word to your friends and coworkers. As we head into the summer, we ask you to consider giving your time, talent, or treasure to help us ignite potential in youth. Learn more about how you can help by visiting our website.
Have you signed up for the BBBS Annual Pickleball Tournament? For information about volunteering, please reach out to Michalea at [email protected] or use our sign-up link! No pickleball experience is required!
Stay tuned for more videos and pictures from our conference this week.
