There comes a point in all of our lives when we need a helping hand. Personally, I have been fortunate enough in my life to have mentors to help guide me to where I am today. They were giving me that push forward when I didn’t have it in myself or even know how to push forward. As we honor Mental Health Awareness Month in May, we are shining a special light on our mentors, donors, and community members who continue to make BBBSNH’s mission possible. Because of you, youth across NH are receiving critical guidance, a positive connection, and the support they need to overcome adversities to reach their full potential.
We know that even before the pandemic, youth mental health crises was on the rise. Now, we are receiving more inquiries from youth and their families in need of our mentoring services.
That’s where you fit in!
We know you can think of someone who likes to do fun activities on the weekends or weeknights. Probably most of the people you know, right? They might be doing things such as fishing, playing video games, painting, or shooting hoops all while making an impact on a child’s life. Share and visit our website to learn more and get acclimated now!
I want to give a special shout-out to our friend, Flo Nicolas, Esquire, DEI Directive Co-Founder/COO, Creator/Director/Producer Get Tech Smart & Get Resource Smart TV Show, Founder/CEO Get Tech Smart, Adjunct Professor Computer Science Dept. MCC NH for hosting BBBSNH on Get Resource Smart last week! I was able to bring our Big Brother of the Year, Adam, and Board member, Andrew (also a previous Little/mentee and Big/mentor in the program). Thank you for helping us get the word out about this organization’s great mission. Be sure to check back next month to learn more!
Lastly, I hope everyone has a great Mother’s Day! Whether you are in that role or have an impact by being a positive female presence in someone’s life, we see you and honor you. Be sure to take some time for yourself! We all deserve someone in our corner looking out for our best!
Stay well friends,
Stacy W. Kramer, CEO
