Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire Presents:
1st Annual BBBSNH Pickleball Tournament
The Fastest Growing Sport to Support Youth Mentoring in New Hampshire
Exeter, NH – July 9-10th, 2021 — Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire (BBBSNH) hosted it’s first BBBSNH Pickleball Tournament on Saturday, July 10 and Sunday, July 11 at Exeter Town Recreation Center in Exeter, NH.
Pickleball is all the craze! A fast-growing sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. We are thrilled to say that the first annual BBBSNH tournament SOLD OUT and hosted over 180 players! Participants from all over New England harnessed their passion for pickleball to help raise awareness for youth mentoring and raise funds for BBBSNH.
The tournament was directed by Joe Santoro. Joe is a USA Pickleball Certified Referee, USA Pickleball Referee Training Coordinator, Atlantic Region, PPR Registered Pickleball Trainer, IPTPA Certified Pickleball Instructor and is known for his successes directing the NH Lakes Region Pickleball Club Tournament and NH Senior Games Pickleball Tournament.
The tournament used a Round Robin format, with Brackets limited to eight teams, for a maximum Round Robin play of seven games per team per bracket. Each team in a bracket got the chance to play each other team in that bracket at least once. In smaller brackets, a team may play each opposing team twice.

Since 1966, Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire has been changing lives – one friendship at a time. Mentoring gives youth the inspiration and confidence needed to achieve their dreams, provides parents with a network of support, and offers volunteers the opportunity to make a big difference in someone else’s life, just by having fun! This tournament will be an exciting weekend of friendly competition to raise money to support the mission of BBBSNH, which is to create and support 1-to-1 mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth! Support to BBBSNH goes to the recruitment of mentors, interview and assessment of youth and potential mentors, pairing and matching of the youth and mentor plus ongoing training and support for the duration of the match relationship.
