New Hampshire & Vermont

Growing Stronger Together

Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire and Vermont are coming together as one, strengthening our mission to ignite the power and promise of youth. By merging, we’re building a unified network that will foster even more meaningful mentoring relationships throughout our communities.

Why We’re Merging

After many years of working side by side, Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire and Vermont are officially merging to combine our expertise, resources, and passion.

This strategic step allows us to better serve the youth, families, and communities we care deeply about — especially at a time when nonprofit funding and resources are more limited than ever. By uniting, we’re strengthening our ability to create and sustain meaningful, long-lasting mentoring relationships, reaching more kids across both states and building a stronger future together.

FAQs About the Merger

Have questions about what this means? We’ve got answers.

How will the merger of the NH and VT organizations affect my current match? Will I be working with someone new?

Right now, there are no immediate changes in who you will be working with.  Moving forward, we hope that you can connect with more people who are part of this amazing organization, plus your match advisor.  Although we try not to adjust your check-ins once you have established your mentoring relationship, at times, it is necessary to shift match caseloads to ensure we are providing the highest quality of match support.

I signed up to be a Big/mentor or my child to be Little/mentee. Will this affect that process?
No, this merger will not affect your status and if you have questions, please reach out to our enrollment team (the person you interviewed with).
If I donate to the organization, will it support my state or local community?
Yes, we support all young people that are in need of a mentor. Your donation, if you choose, can be specific to a state or local community.

What Comes Next?

We’re working behind the scenes to ensure a smooth transition. Matches and new enrollments will still be supported by the same dedicated staff. Donors can continue to give to the overall mission or choose to support a specific state or community.

We’ll keep this page updated with any major news as we move through this process. In the meantime, if you have questions about what this merger means for you or your community, please don’t hesitate to reach out — we’re here to help.
