CEO Corner December 2021

As the passionate leader of Big Brothers Big Sisters of NH, Stacy shares updates, insights, and inspiration as we work together to empower New Hampshire’s youth through mentoring.

As we have navigated this pandemic, the one thing that has been very clear through it all is the connections we make. Connection to others and our community is key to feeling hope and optimistic about the future.

To say it has been quite the year would be an understatement. We had ups and downs with program inquiries ― from volunteer signups to an increase in the youth enrolled for our mentoring programs. We needed to balance that with the work it takes enrolling youth and recruiting volunteers, plus providing the initial and ongoing training to make each match successful.

As the year comes to an end, I am feeling so grateful for the many volunteer mentors–BIGS–who have provided over 22,128 hours of mentoring. Our amazing team also provided 11,829 hours of enrolling, matching and ongoing support and training to each and every match. It all adds up to great connections, stronger communities and a powerful impact on our youth. The important work of BBBSNH makes a difference not only in the lives of our Littles, but also their families and the Bigs who mentor them!

We are finishing up our Thankful Giving Campaign this month and next month marks National Mentoring Month. Thank you to those that have supported mentoring and those that donated to honor the mentor(s) in your life. We couldn’t do what we do each and every day without the necessary support from people like you. If you plan to make a donation this year (remember it is tax-deductible), it isn’t too late. Join us in raising $100,000 this giving season. Make a Donation.

From our board of directors and amazing team, we wish you a very Happy New Year!
With gratitude,

Stacy W. Kramer, CEO
